On 14 October, 2017 an International Congress organized by the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage was held in Mexico City, Mexico. Georgia was represented by Mrs. Marine Egutia – Chief of the Department of International Projects at the LTD “Georgian Amelioration” of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and Dr., Prof. Givi Gavardashvili – Director of the “ECOCENTER for Environmental Protection”. 

The main topic of discussions at the official meetings was dedicated to the establishment of the Georgian National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage and its membership in the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID).
