August 25, 2020 a meeting was held at the UN Office in Georgia with the UN Resident Representative in Georgia, Dr. Sabine Makhli, and the Director of the Ecocenter of Environmental Protection, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Givi Gavardashvili. The meeting was attended by Dr. Marine Chitashvili, Chief Advisor to the UN Resident Coordinator, and Dr. Natia Gavardashvili, Senior Scientific Research of Ecocenter of Environmental Protection.

Professor Givi Gavardashvili introduced the official UN document on granting consulting status of Ecocenter of Environmental Protection to the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in the fields of tourism and agriculture. He asked the Head of the UN Office in Georgia to cooperate in the field of environment, water resources, tourism and agriculture in the condition of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Dr. Sabine Makhli thoroughly listened to Prof. C. Gavardashvili information and asked the Chief Adviser Dr. Marine Chitashvili to connect Professor Givi Gavardashvili with international organizations: FAOGE, UNDP, UNIDO, UNWOMEN, IOM, UNICEF, for cooperation in future international projects. An agreement has already been reached that the meeting will take place between September and October.
