Presentation of book “The scientist’s visit card” dedicated to the 55th anniversary of Prof. Givi Gavardashvili, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Director of the Water Management Institute of Georgian Technical University and Director of the ECOCENTER for Environmental Protection, was held at Gallery “Universe” (Building 1 of Georgian Technical University).

The book covers the administrative, scientific-practical and pedagogic activities of Prof. Givi Gavardashvili, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Director of the Water Management Institute, for the last 5 years (2008-2012), as well as his international relations with 16 countries of the world (in the Georgian, Russian and English languages). The information in the book is given on 466 pages and book is decorated with color illustrations. The book published under the editorship of Academician Otar Natishvili, gives a short report of the International Symposium held under the aegis of UNESCO, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Water Management Institute and organized by Mr. Givi Gavardashvili, information about the Institute activities, G. Gavardashvili’s biographical data and bibliographical data of his scientific works, his inventions, monographs and a list of the environmental protection measures designed and realized in Georgia under his management and with his direct participation in 2006-2013.

The presentation was opened by Prof. Tamaz Batsikadze, the Head of the Perspective Development Office of Georgian Technical University. Academician Inga Iremashvili, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Deputy Director of the Institute delivered the presentation.

Words of welcome were delivered by Mr. Otar Natishvili, Academician of Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Prof. Erzhi Sobota, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Director of The Building Institute of Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences, who specially arrived from Poland to attend the presentation, Prof. Zurab Gasitashvili, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Vice-Rector of GTU, Mr. Kakhaber Sologhashvili, Deputy Director in the financial issues at the United Water Supply Company of Georgia of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development of Georgia, Prof. David Mirtskhulava, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the technical department of the project of company TRANS ELECTRICA LIMITED, Mr. Tengiz Urushadze, Academician of Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Prof. Shalva Gagoshidze, Doctor of Technical Sciences of the Building Faculty of GTU, Prof. Teimuraz Gvelesiani, Doctor of Technical Sciences of the Building Faculty of GTU, Ms. Irine Iordanishvili, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department of Seas and Water Reservoirs at the Water Management Institute, Dr. Zurab Lobzhanidze, Academician, Doctor of Technical Sciences, GTU Associated Professor and Senior Scientific Worker of the Water Management Institute and others.
